Schools can be authorized for individual IB programs, or for all programs offered by IBO.Our International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) is designed to evolve students into emerging leaders who understand that change is possible through dialogue, action and a determination to make situations better - locally, nationally and globally.Every school authorized to offer IB programs is known as an IB World School. In order to teach IB programs, schools must be authorized by IBO.All students in Grades 3-9 studying the IB curriculum must take either of the following: NWEA-MAP®, GL-PT test series, ACER-ISA, EI-ASSET in English, Mathematics and Science.The diploma is awarded to students who gain at least 24 points (out of a possible 45). A student’s final Diploma result score is made up of the combined scores for each subject. In the DP, students receive grades ranging from 7 to 1, where 7 is the highest.Both internal and external assessments are used to determine the final results.For the IB DP, results that students receive are determined by their performance against standards set by the IBO.Optional MYP eAssessment: Participation in optional MYP assessments provides IB-validated grades based on examinations and course work, including Personal Project, Onscreen exams and coursework ePortfolio.Mandatory MYP personal project: In the final year of the MYP (Grade 10), students complete a long-term project that is designed as an independent learning experience of approximately 25 hours.Primary Years Program: Students undertake a collaborative, transdisciplinary inquiry process to identify, investigate and offer solutions to a real-life problem, and present their project as part of a mandatory exhibition.Students must choose six subjects in total: A subject from each of the subject groups, Language and Literature, Language Acquisition, Individuals and Societies, Science, Mathematics and either one from the Arts or a second from one of the other groups. In addition to these core elements, students may choose courses from various subject groups.Creativity, Activity, Service in which students complete a project.Extended Essay which is an independent, self-directed piece of research culminating in an essay.Theory of Knowledge in which students reflect on the nature of knowledge.The Diploma Program consists of three core elements:.The Middle Years curriculum framework comprises 8 subject groups, and schools are required to provide at least 50 hours of teaching time for each subject group in each year of the program. Ask your school for information about the content standards it follows. This means that schools may choose to follow the curriculum content (e.g., Mathematics, English, Science) of another system, e.g., British or American, through the philosophy and teaching and learning framework provided by the IB Primary Years Program.
